Catering to both high school and primary school students, The Rocks Ghost Tours is an excellent way of inspiring interest in early European settlement, with locally inherited stories as we take a walking tour through the myriad laneways and old sandstone architecture – some areas of which are off limits to the general public.

Our tours can be booked for any part of the day or evening, however for interstate or country NSW schools who are staying in The Rocks or CBD, an evening ghost tour will definitely be something to write home about!

For high school students our full school group tours is also available for 20-200 students and accompanying teachers & adults.

In both versions of the tour, students will journey from this world to the early convict settlement of The Rocks. On the ghost tour, they will connect with Australian history through eerie folklore, ghostly tales and haunted sites as your guide shows you along the cobblestone lanes and old alleys of The Rocks. Students will hear tales of the past and stories where they can experience the atmosphere of being guided through Australia’s most historic haunted village. This really is a fantastic educational field trips for all school students.

The tour includes group discussions and activities including taking turns wearing manacles, or experiencing what it would have been like in the stocks.

The minimum number of 20 people is required per group. Tours operate for 1.5 hours, in all weather and ponchos will be provided if wet. Starting times are allocated at time of booking and cameras are permitted on the tour.

Starting Place

All tours commence at Argyle Place Park, opposite the Garrison Church, corner of Argyle and Lower Fort Street, The Rocks (subject to change). Please ensure the group has been to the bathroom prior to meeting. Coach parking is available near the Village Green. Street metered parking at the top of Argyle Street near Observatory Hill or parking stations in Harrington Street.


We are fully insured and have a Risk Assessment Policy. For more information, please enquire and we can email a copy to the school.

Bookings & Payments

To make a booking we need a Credit Card number as a holding or Schools can be invoiced. A deposit of 10 students is required at the time of booking. When invoicing, the holding payment must be received within 10 days, this secures the date and we will confirm the booking.

The final numbers and payment are required 7 days beforehand and there are strictly no cancellations within this time. With invoicing we’d need to invoice at least 10 days before. Cancellations can only be accepted in writing.
