History and Walking Tours

Experience the unique history that is The Rocks, the birthplace of Sydney and modern day Australia. With the magnificent and iconic Sydney Harbour as the backdrop, this whimsical and at times gritty 90 minute guided tour will take you through the lanes and cobblestoned paths of The Rocks.

The tour will take you back in time to the convict days of Sydney’s first settlement, through to the dark underbelly of the street gangs of the late 19th century. You’ll hear the stories of the many larrikins who lived in the area, and whose characters’are ingrained in the modern day Rocks.

You’ll also learn of the modern day fight to save The Rocks from the destruction of property developers in the 1970s.

This walking tour is conveniently located close to Sydney’s main hotels, restaurants and transport. After the tour you may wish to catch a ferry to view Sydney’s breathtaking harbour, or perhaps relax and have a quiet beverage or two at one of the many historic pubs scattered around The Rocks area.

Tour Details

The Tour starts at 11:30am on Mondays and Fridays and runs for approximately 1.5 hours.
